BCN Coffee Guide
Barcelona, Projects

BCN BCnB

Please, don’t come to Barcelona and drink Starbucks! This place is loaded with great coffee shops. If you’re like me and want to start your day with a Flat White, grab an Iced Latte or Espresso in the heat, or end your evening with a Cortado, then it’s good to know what spots are nearby. And it is certainly how you want to kill your jet lag on day one!

So we put together this little Google List of what we think are the best coffee places in town — spread out so you can find something in almost any neighborhood.

Download BCN BCnB

If you aren’t close to any of these and need a caffeine fix, and want to wander in somewhere new, look for a La Marzocco machine serving Nomad, Three Marks, or any other local roasters, and you’re probably in pretty good shape.

And nothing goes better with coffee than a good book (on the same list). Barcelona has many great English Book Stores or places with an English section. Our favorite is Finestres, which has such micro-categories (with all the languages mixed together) that you’re sure to find something interesting that you hadn’t heard of before. And they encourage you to relax, sit and read. And while not on our list, there are a lot of Re-Read Used Bookstores with pretty good English sections too.

Three Marks is served in a lot of our favorite places around town. So with visiting their spot for sure!
La Masala Cafe

Probably the first good coffee spot we found when we moved here in the summer of 2020. Lots of awesome spots have opened since, but keeping this one for nostalgia, and still a really good coffee.

Morning Glory Coffee & Brunch
Carrer de la Riereta, 15
Deep Rival, great coffee.

I usually judge a place by it’s Flat Whites. But I had just run a race so my test here was an Iced Latte which admittedly is a lot easier. But it was God damn delicious.
Garage Coffee
Carrer de Joan Gamper, 13
We don’t get to this part of town as much, but when we do this is a favorite! Great breakfasts and nice staff too.
BLACKBIRD Coffee Corner

Heading to La Sagrada Familia? This is a nice spot to grab an outdoor table and enjoy the day on the way. 🐦‍⬛

Love this place and their hand painted Green La Marzocco. Look for the streamers and for sure grab a Flat White here on your way to El Born. 💚
Ruma's Coffee
Carrer dels Escudellers, 11
There is a gap in coffee places in this part of town. Thank God Rumas moved here to fill the void and fill your caffeine needs.
Billy Café
C/ de Bailèn, 113
Billy has branded like a mofo! We love seeing the chick stickers and tuk tuk around town. The tourists got word and it can be BUSY. But just around the corner from the restaurant is Billy Cafe for a quick, tasty to-go coffee. Or there is one table if you're lucky. 🐥👍
Departure Coffee Co.
Carrer de la Verge, 1
No laptops. I keep forgetting that. But really good coffee.

Slow. But good. Chill for a minute and grab a great coffee on your way to... wherever.
Nomad Coffee - Lab & Shop
Passatge Sert, 12
This place can be busy, but the variety and coffee are amazing. There is a reason so many good coffee shops serve Nomad coffee. Also one of only a couple places with Nitro in the summertime. Pass down this tunnel as You drop into Sant Pere, Santa Caterina & la Ribera.
Syra Coffee - Londres
C/ de Londres, 100

La Central del Raval
Carrer d'Elisabets, 6
Another La Central—this one just on the edge of Raval. Great, curated English language book section and a huge spot to explore. They have a cafe connected which can be a good spot to be lazy for a bit too.
ÖSS Kaffe Barcelona
C/ de Joaquín Costa, 26
In the heart of Raval, ÖSS is a little oasis to sit and chill for a while. Used to be Nomad, but still serve Nomad here. And you can ask them to grind you some to take with you.
Dalston Coffee Barcelona
Carrer de les Ramelleres, 16
Squeeze in & grab a really good coffee on your way to exploration, or as a pick-me-up on your way back. More of a “para llevar” or “to go” spot.
Lodetto Café
C. de Valldonzella, 36
Used to be Lukimas. They don’t have the amazing donuts anymore, but they still have great coffee. We hit this spot regularly when we’re heading to El Raval.

C/ de la Diputació, 163
Syra Coffee is ubiquitous. They are everywhere and really good.
